Local 47 received its charter from the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Worker on June 28, 1937. For over 70 years our proud members have supplied the construction industry with skilled workers. Local 47 meets the ever-changing thermal demands of the industrial and commercial industry through our apprenticeship program and mechanic upgrading classes. Our members adhere to the “Professional Craftsman Code of Conduct” to maintain the highest level of quality workmanship, to finish the job on time, under budget, and built right the first time, with safety being our top priority.
Local 47 will continue to defend the rights of our membership as our past members have, through LEADERSHIP, EDUCATION, and SOLIDARITY.
